Class Title: Beginners Fused Glass Class

Description: 

You will learn the proper use of glass cutting tools, and explore the colorful world of glass. You will create 2 projects and leave them with the instructor to fire in a kiln. They’re usually ready to pick up at the Sebastian River Art Club one week later.

Note: The cost is $40.00 including all materials and firing. Only 6 participants per class!  Please reserve your space in advance by emailing the the Art club or instructor. Cash or checks will be accepted on the day of the course.

 

Artist’s Statement: Creativity is the deepest expression of ourselves. As

an artist, I strive to help my students unleash their creative potential. Using

the techniques of fused glass, I help my students transform their creative

spark into a deeply personal artistic journey.

 

Biography:

I re-discovered my passion for art as an educator within an art-integrated

school setting in Palm Beach County. In the second half of my career in

education, I became a school counselor and began using the arts as a

potent form of student self-expression. I bring 30 years of hands-on

experience using a multitude of art mediums, but my passion is working

with and creating fused glass pieces.

Outside of the school setting, I explored and formally studied the

techniques of fused glass. I studied and developed my craft at The Craft

Gallery and at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach. I’ve been

creating fused glass art pieces since 2010 and have taught classes in West

Palm Beach and Leesburg, FL; as well as in Newland, NC.
